Newest Addition!
No...I'm not pregnant, and I didn't have a baby. My Dad's Miniature Sicilian donkey had her baby on Sunday afternoon. I was talking to my Mom on the phone when they found out. Sidenote to reader: My parents spend the 1st 3 months of the year in Boise because my Dad is a legislator. They aren't home yet and my Dad has been extremely nervous about her having it without him there. Back to the story: They were so excited, you'd think they'd had another grandchild. The Dean Mortimer household now has 3 mini donkeys. Jenny (the mom), Jill (the older sister), and Janet (2 days old.) Isn't she cute? Me and the kids are going out to welcome her into the family on Wednesday.

TAIslim
I'm loving this new product I am trying. I heard about if from a couple of ladies in my ward. One girl said she's tried every diet there is and this stuff really works. I'm only 2 1/2 days in and I feel great. I haven't gotten on the scale, but it's enough for me that it's helped my sugar and caffeine cravings. I am eating less, and drinking a ton more water. I have more energy. I slept great last night too!

Mondays
Mondays are usually laidback days for me and the little man. Carter loves to help me sort laundry. (Monday is laundry day at the Cannon household) Here he is in the big pile before sorting. Anyone have a bigger pile than that? I'd love to see pics posted on blogs. :)
On a more journally note... Friday night Jason and I went to Qwest's BRAVO night. The theme was Havana nights. It's fun to get out and socialize with other adults. I don't have any pics, sorry.
CJ fell and hit his head on the kitchen floor last night. It didn't bleed, thank heavens, but he cried and whined for quite a while. Poor kid. I felt so helpless. Good thing they have flexible bones (and skulls.) I bought a Lightning McQueen ice pack which apparently helped. I think it's the only time he's let us actually put it on a bump, so that tells you how bad he was hurting.
My parents were home this weekend from Boise. I don't see much of my Dad, but I know he loves me so what more can I ask? My mom is...Great. I can't think of another word. The older I get, the more I realize how much I love and appreciate her. I am also realizing that I'm just like her in so many ways. (mostly good) She shared her love of music with me and I will always be grateful for that. If I were to think of my life like a home, music is the paint on the walls. OK...so that was a weird analogy. Hopefully you get the idea.
End journally part...
Anyone have any suggestions on good old movies? Maybe your faves?

Today's Lesson
I had to take my girls to school this morning because we had to do some quick hairwashing and they missed the bus. This alone was frustrating for my 8 year old cuz she likes routine and loves to ride the bus. DRAMA, and more drama. I was fairly proud of myself and I stayed calm...
Anyhoo....As I dropped them off, I watched my Kindergartener run one way as the 2nd grader ran the other. I had one of those moments where everything seems to be in slow mo and the thoughts in your head get loud. Don't laugh, I know everyone knows what I'm talking about.
The thoughts in my head were something like this...(Warning, proceed with caution: This is an insight to how my mind functions and how I go from thought to thought.)
Kids run everywhere. They are always excited to get places. Why don't I run? Why don't adults run? I don't see people running from their car to get into work every day. I should run. I need to exercise. I need to lose some weight. ...pause...Wouldn't it be funny if I started running everywhere. Running into the grocery store. Running through the produce section...Apples..Bananas...hurry, the broccoli... Kids are great and I can learn so much from them. I am going to have a good day and be excited about the things I have to do and the places I have to go!
I know...SCARY. But the point is, Show some excitement today! Kids are always excited about the little things and we should be too. So run to the mailbox today. Sure there is probably nasty bills in there, but getting mail delivered is neat!

Brother #2
I have been a slacker! I must beg for your forgiveness.
Brother #2....Dustin
I don't even know where to start with this one. When Dustin was little, he was quite a (pause) uh, I can't even think of a good descriptive adjective. Helien maybe. He had a extreme amount of energy and didn't really know how channel it. He created a lot of havoc for my mom. He annoyed my older brother to no end. I tried to tolerate him, but occasionally, even I couldn't stand him. Sidenote: To those reading this...Dustin is aware of this time of his life so I'm not hurting his feelings by stating this. Continuing on... When Dustin turned probably 14, I decided he wasn't so bad after all and we started getting along really well. I started thinking of him as a friend, not just a brother.
After 9/11, Dustin decided he wanted to join the military. He chose the army. He served 2 tours of duty in Iraq which was scary times for our family. We were so proud of him and his choice to serve our country! When he was released from the military, he came back here and started school @ ISU. He bought a house. He is currently running for ISU Idaho Falls Vice President. We took a Marketing night class together last semester which was a blast! WE ARE SMART! :)
I am so proud of my little bro. He is opinionated and stubborn, but he gets things done. Dustin is loyal and caring. He is a natural leader and a clever wit! I am so thankful to have him in my life and in my children's lives. "Uncle Dustin is always fun!"
